Bob Marley is one of favourite writers and singers, but as a primarily folky kind of player, I don’t get a lot of opportunities to play reggae style. I was really pleased to get a reggae song written and onto this recording.
I’m not a purist though – so my production take on this was inspired more by Dire Straits than by Bob Marley. Michael’s drum part was so cool that I decided to make that the intro to the song.
I’m also a big believer in ‘you reap what you sow’, karma, whatever you want to call it. That’s what this song is really about.
