From 1953 to 1978, hurricanes in the USA were exclusively named after women. I’m not sure if this was meant to be a metaphor, but I thought this was pretty funny. Sometimes I worry this song will be perceived
as sexist, but it’s really just meant to be an old-fashioned sounding tune (I was thinking about ‘King of the Road’ style songs when I wrote this) and a cheeky ode to the overwhelming, awkward feelings of attraction
between two human beings of any sexual identity.
